The commercial fabric of the cities has been profoundly transformed in these years by the closure of the neighborhood exercises, small artisan shops, which have been taken over by fashion and clothing firms, furniture, caterings. Libraries were involved in this process. The stories of those who knew how to react are an example to better understand how they changed and how they changed the city, starting from the example of Rome.
